Formative Assessment Feedback
After I analyzed the feedback from the formative assessment, I would be able to modify and adapt my lessons and my instructional strategies. The raw feedback will give me an opportunity to see the how proficient the students are with the content and where they are misconceptions for each learning target. If I discovered the students are struggling on particular concept, I will change my upcoming lessons to reteach them by re-explaining from a different learning strategy. I would create a lesson which has the student’s interest, learning profile and readiness in order to differentiate the learning in the classroom. I would change the content to modify the student’s misconception and use a variety of teaching strategies, like inquiry, cooperative learning and project based learning, in order to grasp the student’s interest. This will allow the prior knowledge to be activated and as new content are introduced this will build the students learning through the new learning strategy. I want the students to feel the instruction is authentic and novelty in order to for the students to form connections and gain a better understanding of the content. I know the intermediate feedback will not make every lesson authentic, but will allow me to reflect on how I can create the best environment to promote learning in the classroom. As I received more feedback from my lesson, I will be able to eliminate more of misconceptions from the lesson. Thus, the formative assessments will allow me to become a better educator and a reminder to organize the foundations of each lesson and unit from the student’s interest and learning targets in order to promote learning in my classroom.
